Welcome to the Anthrozoos online manuscript submission and review system.

Anthrozoös will accept new contributions that describe the characteristics and consequences of interactions/relationships between people and non-human animals. Papers are welcome from the arts and humanities, behavioral and biological sciences, social sciences, and the health sciences. We encourage the submission of well-designed studies, even if they report neutral or negative results.

The editorial office is open from Mondays through Fridays (but not public holidays). If the editorial office is to be closed for any significant period of time (i.e., a week or more), a notice will be put up on this web site.

Important notes about manuscript submission and the review process. Please read.

1. Ensure your paper is relevant to the Journal. If in doubt, contact the editor. Inappropriate manuscripts will be declined and not reviewed.

2. Ensure you have read the “Notes for Contributors” and have followed the formatting instructions. Very importantly, remove authors' names and affiliations and acknowledgements from your paper. Manuscripts must be in MS-Word (.doc files only - do not send .docx files) and sent as one file only (all text, tables and figures in one file). Papers which are not formatted properly may be returned to the author unread.

3. Register as a user - authors must ensure their user profile (Department, University etc) is filled in as completely as possible.

4. Authors must alert the editor to the names of any people who have helped in the preparation of the manuscript, to avoid it being sent out to inappropriate referees.

5. Authors may suggest the names of one or two potential referees for their paper - these may or may not be used by the editor. Authors can also give the names of referees they believe would not be appropriate for their paper, for example, due to conflict of interests.

6. After submission, there will typically be a few days’ delay before the manuscript is sent out for review. Note: the editorial office is not open on weekends. Longer delays will occur when the editor is away. If the editorial office is to be closed for any appreciable amount of time (e.g., a week or more), a notice will appear on this web site.

7. The review process takes about 8 weeks.

Authors who have had their paper refereed in 2009 (i.e., have a reference code starting with A09, A08 or A07) and want to submit a revised manuscript, should not use this system. Instead, they must email their documents directly to the editor (alp18@cam.ac.uk).

If you are a first-time user, you will need to register before you can proceed. If you have been here before, continue by entering your username and password below.
